About me

I offer Individual and Couples counselling in-person and online from my air conditioned counselling cabin in Fleet, Hampshire. I believe in kindness, compassion and understanding and as your counsellor I will work collaboratively with you providing a safe, confidential, space for you to express and process your emotions. I have extensive experience in counselling for a wide range of issues and will tailor your counselling to meet your needs.

Whether you are looking to cope with a specific mental health issue, better manage unpleasant emotions or simply want to feel better about yourself, counselling can help.

I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor / Psychotherapist (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) working in Fleet, Hampshire, on the borders of Hampshire and Surrey.

My Counselling Style

Counselling provides an opportunity for you to talk about your concerns in a confidential and safe environment. My goal as your talking therapist is to help you develop a deeper understanding of what is happening and to support you in finding ways to manage your emotions, anxieties, relationships, grief and any other concerns you bring to therapy. As a registered BACP counsellor I offer professional, quality counselling.

Talking with a counsellor offers a cocoon, a space to vent, a sounding board, a space where it is safe to honestly sit with your emotions, cry, shout, talk, whatever you need. I will sit with you, listen and offer you a mental ‘first aid kit’ to support you. You are not alone, I am here for you.

Remember, your feelings do not own you, you own your feelings! Find a way to be OK with how you feel and understand why you feel the way you do, when you do.

Private Practice

My private practice is located in Fleet, Hampshire from a purpose built cabin in my garden. I offer in person and online counselling offering each and everyone of my clients a confidential, non-judgemental, welcoming space to work with what ever their needs are. Being a counsellor is not just a job, it is a passion and vocation I truly love.

Cancer Counselling Experience

During my training and beyond, I volunteered for 3 years as a Counsellor at St Luke’s Cancer Centre at the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford, Surrey for the Fountain Centre, an independent charity supporting patients and carers affected by cancer.  Working with Carers and Patients with life limiting illness has been and continues to be some of the most rewarding work I have done. It is an honour and a privilege to do this work.

Alzheimer's and Dementia Counselling Experience

My Mum has lived with Vascular Dementia since 2012 and I have watched her slowly disappear into a world of her own as the illness has stripped her cognitive function away piece-by-piece. All the time my Dad has been her carer and looked after her tirelessly and I have watched first hand what truly being in love means. This is one of the things that has inspired me as a counsellor to offer Alzheimer’s and Dementia Counselling. I want to support those who support others whether it be the ones they love or through the love of their job. It is hard to find a place to be safe, honest and true with your feelings as a carer. My goal is to offer you this space as your counsellor.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
