A homely, safe and confidential service. I am a qualified counsellor/ psychotherapist with 10 years training and experience.
Why come to counselling?
The majority of my clients come to me because they feel they've lost direction, question the point to life, are struggling with anxiety or stress and a feeling of general dissatisfaction in life. Having a safe space to talk and a chance to explore difficulties in a non-judgemental environment can make the world of difference. I am caring, supportive and reliable; providing a friendly, calm and accepting space to explore any difficulties you may be having.
What to expect from counselling
I successfully help my clients get in a better headspace and overcome the things that hold them back.During your counselling sessions, you'll be encouraged to express your feelings and emotions. I can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought processes, as well as identifying ways of finding your own solutions to problems. Ultimately making you more empowered.
It can be a great relief to share your worries and fears with someone who acknowledges your feelings and is able to help you reach a positive solution. I have had training and experience in many varying issues and can help you to-
- cope with a bereavement or relationship breakdown
- cope with redundancy or work-related stress
- explore issues such as sexual identity
- deal with issues preventing you achieving your ambitions
- deal with feelings of depression or sadness, and have a more positive outlook on life
- deal with feelings of anxiety, helping you worry less about things
- understand yourself and your problems better
- feel more confident
No problem is too big when you have the right kind of support.
Why I became a counsellor
I have always had a kind and empathic nature, even as a child I paid particular attention to those who seemed unhappy, wanting to help them feel better. Training to be a counsellor felt like a natural step.
I choose to train as a Person-Centred/Humanistic Counsellor because I believe that this approach respects individual uniqueness and steers clear of any form of advice giving, with the view to support you in finding your own meanings and solutions.
By providing this kind of therapeutic relationship you will eventually have the tools to trust in your inner feelings and experiences.
I have been trained in a variety of other counselling theories which I can integrate into our sessions to best suit your needs. I will always work with your individual needs, with no other agenda than to help you get the most from your sessions.
I also have appropriate supervision and Professional Indemnity Insurance to ensure that my work is both safe and of a high standard. Having trained on a BACP accredited course, I adhere to their ethical framework for good practice.
My practice is easily accessible. If you are travelling by car, there is a private place for you to safely park on my driveway. Alternatively there is free parking right outside .

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Areas of counselling I deal with
From £35 per session (a session last for 50 mins)
From £45 per session
For those that work full time, I am able to facilitate evening and weekend appointments. Please feel free to call or email for more information.
I believe that everyone from any background should be able to have counselling if they are struggling with a problem. Therefore my fees are reflective of my own personal understanding of not being able to access an affordable counselling service. I know that it can be a costly process and do not want to exclude anyone from being able to get support when they need to.
Therefore I do offer some concessionary places, so please ask about this if it means you can access the help you need.
