My approach blends Solution Focussed Therapy, CBT, Coaching, Hypnotherapy and other evidence-based methods to help you gently shift and upgrade limiting beliefs at both a conscious and subconscious level. We work together to create new, more empowering patterns of thought, emotion, and behaviours that truly align with who you are today, not who you learned to be.

"Recently Brid guided me through my first ever hypnotherapy exercise – Upgrading the Child. We had agreed in a previous session that hypnotherapy would be a productive way for me to move through a particular issue. She gave me detailed information about what the exercise would entail, how long it would take, and helped me to feel comfortable about the process. On the day of the session I felt anxious about proceeding, however, Brid again explained the process step by step, and above all, that I couldn’t possibly get it wrong and that there were no ‘right’ answers.
I am so pleased that I went ahead with it. Brid used a simple, yet effective method to put me into a deeply relaxed, meditative state. She guided me through the exercise gently and skilfully as I engaged with my child self and with other significant players in my journey. Brid held the space well so that I felt safe and able to fully sink into and experience my feelings. There was a portion of the exercise which was used to reinforce a positive relationship with myself which felt incredibly powerful, and when the exercise was brought to closure, I was so moved, and felt so free, that I was unable to speak, and shed many, much needed tears. About Me and The way I work
I work fast and make sure that we get right to the core of your issue and begin the healing process straight away.
We discuss particular moments in your life where limiting beliefs and negative patterns of behaviour were created. I help you to transform those belief patterns to create new, healthier patterns of thinking that help you feel empowered and in control of your thoughts and emotions. I do this by helping you to re-frame the beliefs you created. Changing how you think and feel, changes your behaviour which ultimately changes your life.
I am a highly trained and experienced BACP registered Integrative Psychotherapist. This means that I use a combination of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Hypnotherapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), working with your mind to create desired lasting changes in the form of new perceptions, beliefs, emotions or behaviours. The way that I work is fast, highly effective with long lasting permanent changes!

Online therapy is scientifically proven to be as effective as face-to-face therapy. There's no reason why we should be stuck with the old ideas of face-to-face therapy when we could be enjoying working conveniently, securely and efficiently online, in particular during the current pandemic of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The other bonus to this approach is that online therapy can fit around your lifestyle, so if you're travelling for work, struggle to leave the home due to anxious thoughts, work for yourself and need to minimise downtime, or perhaps have difficulties finding childcare, this can fit into your routine seamlessly.
Skype or Zoom is a very convenient way to engage in therapy when you can’t attend face to face sessions. Perhaps you are in one of the following categories:
You travel a lot with work.
Maybe you have a disability, which makes it difficult for you to leave your home.
Perhaps you are living overseas and want to talk to a therapist from your own country/culture.
You have childcare or other caring responsibilities, which make it hard to find the time to travel to sessions.
Or, there might be no suitable therapists living near you, if you live in a remote area, for example
Whatever the reason, counselling via Skype could be the solution for you.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Bereavement & Loss
Whether a bereavement is sudden or expected, it is highly distressing and traumatic. People feel under great stress and strain when someone they love dies, and no matter what the circumstances, grief can include a wide range of emotions from sadness to anger. Loss can also be the loss of a relationship after a marriage breaks down for example, or the loss of an animal, a home, a job etc. It is not only bereavement that can leave people feeling empty and alone. Counselling can really help people as they go through the stages of grief and ensure that they have the support that they need as they work through all the different emotions involved.
Confidence & Self Esteem
People often come for counselling because they have very low self worth. This means that they lack confidence and that their self-esteem is very fragile. This can often be the result of their what they have experienced, either growing up, or in a relationship. It may be the result of bullying or abuse for example. Counselling can really help people to start to believe in themselves again and to recognise what they have to offer, and the positive aspects of themselves. It can assist people in developing and moving forward.
Relationship with the Self, and Self Concept
The relationship with yourself is the most important relationship that you will ever have. Having a healthy relationship with yourself means that you have a stable self-concept. ... When you feel good about yourself, it complements every other relationship that you have. Self-love is the best kind of love.
Stress
Stress plays a massive role in a lot of people’s lives. Sometimes work, relationships, money and/or health concerns can cause people to feel under a lot of pressure. Signs of being stressed are feeling over whelmed, run down, irritability, inability to sleep and sometimes eating can be effected (either over or under eating). Stress can often lead to physical health problems and emotional outbursts. Stress is really hard to live with, and counselling can offer an outlet for this, and a place where you can discuss and work through the factors that are causing you to feel so stressed out.

Further weekly Counselling and Psychotherapy Sessions are £80. Each counselling session lasts 50mins.
Cancellation Policy: Wherever possible I will try to accommodate requests to reschedule appointments within the same week, however, I require 48 hours notice to cancel a session. If less than 48 hours is given, the full fee is payable.

Psychotherapy and Counselling Sessions
Talk Therapy sessions are held weekly, and are often open-ended, meaning they are agreed to be on going for as long as you feel you need them. They may include the use of a number of psychotherapeutic approaches, Gestalt Therapy, Inner Child, Parts Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Coaching, and may even include some guided imagery or Hypnotherapy. Each talk therapy session lasts 50 mins and costs £80 each.
Transformational Hypnotherapy Programme
This programme is designed for those who have already done the inner work and understand themselves deeply, yet still feel limited by old beliefs that no longer reflect who they truly are.
The Transformational Hypnotherapy Programme is an 8-week, modern and highly effective process that helps you uncover the root causes behind why you feel a certain way or struggle to change long-standing patterns of thought and behaviour.
Drawing on a blend of Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Coaching, Hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), this approach helps you understand how past experiences shape your present reality. With this awareness, we work together to challenge self-limiting beliefs, shift perceptions, and replace them with empowering new patterns of thought.
Week 1: Discover
We start by exploring your core beliefs and values, uncovering what’s been keeping you stuck. You’ll also get a relaxing guided audio to help you unwind and open your mind for the transformation to come
Week 2: Clear
Once we’ve identified your challenges, we’ll work with your subconscious mind through guided hypnotherapy to clear mental barriers and create space for powerful new beliefs and positive change.
Week 3: Re-Frame
In this deeper, two-hour session, we’ll explore the roots of your limiting beliefs and patterns. Through reframing and positive therapeutic suggestions, you’ll begin to develop healthier, more empowering ways of thinking and feeling.
Week 4: Transform
You’ll receive a personalised transformational recording, designed specifically for you to listen to over 28 days. This key element embeds new, positive beliefs and behaviours into your daily life, helping these changes become lasting and natural.
Weeks 5-8: Integrate
As you begin to live from your new mindset, we will meet weekly to reflect on your progress, notice signs of growth, and explore any thoughts or feelings that arise. You’ll discover that as your thinking and emotions shift, your sense of self, and your life, transforms too.

Light touch support between sessions (email, phone, video or message) - Many clients find this eight-week programme sufficient to create profound and lasting change — particularly when combined with previous self-development or talk therapy work.
How Hypnotherapy Works
When your mind is deeply relaxed, you are in a state of highly focussed attention and suggestibility, a state we all experience naturally every single day. This state of mind is very much like being absorbed in a good book or a movie and getting lost in the story, or feeling relaxed and allowing your mind to wander during a massage or at the end of a yoga class. In this state you can turn your attention inwards and make positive changes to how you think, feel and behave.
Up to 90 percent of your behaviour is controlled by your subconscious mind, this is why it’s difficult to change behaviour, feelings and thoughts at a conscious level. Hypnotherapy allows you to bypass your conscious mind and go straight to the subconscious where you can change your negative beliefs, emotional reactions and old patterns of behaviours by replacing them with new empowering ways of being.
