About me

About Bac Counselling

I am an experienced and qualified humanistic/integrative counsellor and group facilitator for 20 years and Registered Member of BACP. I know the importance of finding the right counsellor and I believe the humanistic approach which is to be empathic, genuine, honest and provide a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space where you can explore your issues affecting you, while discovering your inner resources is the best way I can help you heal.

I am also an integrative counsellor offering counselling skills to support you through your journey as you may need coaching, or brief solution focus during therapy. For example, I have had clients who may be discussing their relationship but during our sessions an issue at work has entered the therapy session that needed addressing hence was able to spend some time supporting this using coaching. Also, a client who became very anxious after ending a relationship and offered ear acupuncture that was able to reduce the anxiety and allow the client to sleep.

Counselling is a therapeutic procedure that allows a person to talk about their problems and feelings in a confidential and secure environment. A counsellor is trained to listen with empathy (by putting themselves in your shoes). We can help you deal with issues that have impact on your well-being.

I believe that you are the expert of your life and that through being heard in a non-judgmental environment we can work together to unlock the key to your issues, develop a high self-worth, and learn skills to address the issues that have affected you.

Issues I have experience with and can help you deal with are:

  • depression,
  • anxiety,
  • stress,
  • relationship issues,
  • separation and divorce,
  • alcohol addiction,

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
