About me
My own story with therapy began in my early 20s. Counselling offered me the opportunity to alter my “internal script”, to change the experience I had of myself and my circumstances. With the help of my therapist I became more aware of the person I was and how I responded to relationships and life events.
Counselling can help in difficult times, and also in times when we wish to understand ourselves better. With awareness, we have the choice to change our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. I offer safe, confidential and free from judgement counselling sessions, either face-to-face in the heart of Totnes, South Devon, or online via zoom.
Counselling can be deeply transformative. When we understand ourselves better, we can begin to have more meaningful and fulfilling relationships with other people in our lives. I believe that relationships and connection with other people are the foundations to a fulfilling life.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully trained qualified integrative counsellor, this means I can draw from many different counselling concepts such as CBT-cognitive behaviour therapy, Gestalt, Person centred, Transactional analysis, Attachment theory and Mindfulness. Using different concepts allows me to adapt our sessions to suit your individual needs and the issues you wish to explore.
I am a member of the NCS-National counselling Society, I am committed to engaging in ongoing continued practice development, as I believe there is always more to learn, I have regular supervision and adhere to the NCS code of ethics.
I have experience working with all sorts of clients from all walks of life. I'm currently working with a charity supporting those who are bereaved from suicide and I also work within a secondary school working with young people age 11 to 18.
