About me
I believe that we all have times when we need some extra help. Working together, we can explore where you are and where you want to get to.
I am trained in an approach that integrates both counselling / psychotherapy and coaching. This means we can consider what is impacting your life now, and look to the future. Bringing both counselling and coaching together gives us more tools and routes to utilise.
The quality of our relationship is really important - for therapy to be effective we need to work in partnership. I aim to create the conditions for us to have an emotionally safe and deeply exploratory journey together. I actively guide you in this journey - I don't just sit back and listen. And if we feel it is not the right fit between us, I will support you to find another therapist.
What we cover depends on you. There might be a specific issue, crisis or trauma, a general sense of feeling ‘stuck’, or a need for new insights and change.
I work with adults of all ages, experiencing a range of challenges from anxiety, low mood and depression, low self-esteem or relationship and family difficulties. I have a special interest in supporting clients to understand the impact of childhood on life today.
I have seen that, when we are able to explore and express ourselves in a non-judgmental relationship, we can uncover unconscious patterns and gain clarity on what is keeping us stuck. Then we have the possibility of accepting or changing aspects of our life that we are struggling with. This exploration takes guts and honesty, and is worth the effort.
As an integrative therapist, I combine different theories and models to suit you. My foundation is in person-centred counselling and I draw on aspects of other therapies including Gestalt, Transactional Analysis, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems. My practice is also influenced by existential and psychodynamic theory. We can bring coaching into our work to explore how you would like your future to look, and map out a route forward.
Training, qualifications & experience
I trained at The Minster Centre and the University of East London (PGDip Integrative Counselling and Coaching, distinction).
My experience includes working with undergraduates as a Counsellor at Ravensbourne University.
I have bachelor's (hons) and master's degrees in other fields.
I have twenty years' experience working in a range of senior roles in charities and social enterprises, and volunteering experience with a food bank.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
