About me

I offer a safe, non- judgemental space where you can truly open up and explore painful thoughts, feelings, anxieties and despair. I am a skilled Integrative psychotherapeutic counsellor, with a wide variety of experience and training.

I have successfully helped many clients make positive change, helping them break negative thinking, behaviours and addictions, and move away from guilt, shame and fear ruling their lives.  I currently work as a specialist counsellor in a NHS tier 3 service supporting both male and female clients with long standing weight issues and working with the associated anxiety, depression, guilt and low self esteem which often accompanies this.

I also specialise in Personal Development, supporting client's on their journey of self understanding, growth and healing. Helping client's answer the "why do I keep doing this" or "do the things I do" question. I work with clients to re-store hope for the future, especially after significant life change, such as divorce, job loss or bereavement. I have specialist training in counselling for bereavement having worked for Cruse the bereavement charity for many years.

I often work creatively and incorporate interventions from cognitive behaviour therapy, solution focused therapy, coaching and psychology which I feel help client's who feel stuck, frustrated at not being able to change or make the progress they desire. I can help you tackle the obstacles that are sabotaging you, such as unresolved trauma, relationship issues, low self esteem, imposter syndrome, fear, shame, lack of assertiveness and anger issues. As well as help you improve your self acceptance, self care and general wellbeing.

Thank you for looking at my profile.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
