Providing Counselling and Therapeutic Services in South Manchester
Thank you for your interest in working with me...
Most of us need a helping hand from time to time and I can provide that through counselling and therapeutic support. I provide a calm and welcoming space away from the pressures of your everyday life. Giving you the opportunity to explore, come to terms with and move on from previous experiences... and look towards your future.
Helping you to make positive life changes ...
What positive changes do YOU want in your life ?
In my role as your counsellor I will support you to move beyond your current difficulties, uncover what is meaningful to you and help you decide upon the positive changes that YOU want to make in your life. I do not have imposed solutions to your problems... but I will work with you to help you to reach the place that you want to reach.
Working with me, what can you expect .. ?
Your therapeutic sessions will include compassionate and in-depth dialogue in the form of talk therapy. I will support you to explore your experience, wonder about the intentions or motivations behind behaviours, thoughts and actions, notice emotional patterns or themes and see the bigger picture. We will pause, reflect and be curious about your inner experience. Slowing down to really sense into your experience will offer you much more insight, layers of meaning and open pathways for your experience to unfold.
There are also a number of illuminating and exploratory approaches that I may offer to support you to open up your story and experience. These 'other than words' approaches will help you to move beyond the logical and linear way of approaching, processing and talking about your problem; supporting you to open up new possibilities and perspectives.
Amongst other things you may find yourself creating life maps, writing lists, drawing or doodling, experimenting with symbolic 'play', letter writing, practising mindfullness or meditation.
Thinking of booking a session... ?
I believe that the most important factor in successful therapy is the relationship between client and therapist, so the very best way to decide if you want to take it further is to book a no obligation initial consulation.
This provides an opportunity to meet with me, share your reasons for seeking therapeutic support and in turn I will explain a little more about the service I can offer and how I might be able to help you.
The initial consultation is a 30 minute meeting which is charged at £20 only. There is no obligation to proceed on either side.
