About me
Hello, my name is Amy.
Like you, I have faced situations and emotions that felt overwhelming—times when I felt stuck and couldn’t see a way forward. I became a qualified counsellor at the age of 38 because I want to support people who are struggling with their current challenges and help them find their way again.
I am a person-centred counsellor at my core, which means our sessions will be led by you. I will be there alongside you, offering a safe and supportive space to explore what brought you to counselling. It’s important to me that you feel truly heard, understood, and accepted as you work through difficult feelings at your own pace. You don’t have to face your challenges alone.
In December 2024, I completed the Sands Training for Counsellors and Therapists as I am passionate about supporting anyone who has experienced pregnancy or baby loss. This is an area that is very close to my heart, and I understand the unique complexities of grief and loss in this context.
I am dedicated to working with you as an individual. Your experiences are unique, and I want to meet you where you are, in your world and frame of reference. I will take the time to get to know you, to understand what works for you, and to offer the support that feels right.
I am warm, caring, and always ready to listen. am passionate and determined about helping you move towards healing and clarity. I will bring my authentic self to our work together, and I invite you to do the same. You will always be warmly welcomed.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
