About me

Hello and thank you for visiting my profile.

I'm Milly, the founder of Stable Minds CIC, a low-cost, affordable not-for-profit organisation located in the heart of Knutsford. Our mission is to provide accessible mental health support without compromising on quality. My journey into counselling was inspired by personal experiences and a profound desire to make a difference.

Life's challenges can manifest in various ways. You may be grappling with addiction, anxiety, depression, PTSD, or facing hurdles in relationships. Perhaps past events cast shadows on your present, or you're navigating the waves of change and loss. Sometimes, it's just an indescribable feeling that something isn't aligned. Whatever your journey, I'm here to help you unravel, understand, and find a path forward.

As an integrative counsellor, I pride myself on offering tailored therapy that resonates with your unique needs. My approach is rooted in understanding, warmth, and adaptability, ensuring each session aligns with how you feel.

Our space at Stable Minds is more than just a counselling room; it's a bright, welcoming sanctuary that many find so inviting they never want to leave. Here, you'll find confidentiality, safety, and a non-judgmental environment where your voice is valued.

Beyond traditional therapy, I offer 'walk and talk' sessions, where the serene outdoors and the companionship of my therapy dog, Domino, provide a unique therapeutic experience. For those who prefer remote sessions, I'm available online and over the phone. Additionally, I'm passionate about introducing mindfulness to children of all ages and offer specialized Sand tray therapy and counselling for teenagers.

Stable Minds CIC is not just a counselling centre; it's a community initiative. With the support of national lottery funding, we're proud to assist families who've experienced miscarriage or baby loss, a project deeply close to my heart.

If you're seeking empowerment, resilience, and a space to rebuild self-esteem, I invite you to reach out. Together, we'll embark on a journey of healing and self-discovery. Remember, within you lies a wellspring of courage, sometimes it just takes a little guidance to tap into it.

I am a member of the BACP (The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), I have extensive experience helping those in need, both in my previous position at a crisis centre and more recently with Acorn recovery projects where I specialised in alcohol and addiction.

My experience as an integrative therapist enables me to employ a variety of modalities, thoughts, ideas and approaches to explore and understand your situation alongside you. I will be focusing on the here and now and what you may be experiencing in where you are now, as well as bringing forward and becoming more aware of your prior experiences and connections that may be effecting your life today. I will assist you in looking within, making connections, and better understanding patterns that may have been in place for many years, influencing your personal life, work life, relationships, and overall well-being.

I believe it is essential for you to become your own therapist, so my goal will be to assist you in a non-directive, yet inquisitive and exploratory manner. Giving you the ability to see what is going on for you and how you may move forward. To encourage you to become curious about your feelings, thoughts, behaviours, motives, decisions, and, most importantly, how you experience life.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
