About me

I'm an integrative therapeutic counsellor with experience in working with people who are struggling with issues related to relationship problems, abuse (including narcissistic, domestic and emotional abuse), family and parenting problems, lack of self-confidence and low self-esteem, feelings of sadness, anxiety or depression and body image issues.

I see clients from all walks of life and everyone is welcome. Please get in touch to chat through what it is you want to address and how I can help you get there.

I have a warm and relaxed style and will help you get a clearer understanding of the problems which are causing you pain or stopping you from being the person you want to be.

You don't have to be in crisis to begin therapy, but you might be. If you are, please reach out. Together we can go at your pace over time to explore any issues. You don't need to go through it alone.

How therapy can help you:

We will look at the causes of your feelings and issues so that you can make sense of them and find new ways of coping and behaving which puts you closer to the person you want to be and the life you want to lead. The focus will be on you, your needs and your best interests in a way that is not possible to achieve from chatting with friends and family.

Additional areas I can help with:

  • Starting over after divorce or separation
  • The effects of retirement or redundancy
  • Feeling lost and stuck in life, coping with unwanted feelings and worries
  • Wanting a new perspective on life
  • Unlocking your potential and getting more fulfilment from life
  • Unresolved childhood wounds
  • Working through old pain
  • How your past might be negatively affecting your present
  • Feelings of Loss and Regret
  • Shame and guilt
  • Privileged neglect and boarding school syndrome
  • Putting healthy boundaries in place
  • People-pleasing issues
  • Feeling sad, lonely, depressed or anxious

You might have clear ideas of the areas you want to explore, or you might feel there is no single issue, but rather a sense that things could be better. Looking at this in therapy can be transformational.

How we will work together:

As an integrative therapist and counsellor, I draw on different approaches to suit your unique needs and preferred ways of exploring your situations, problems and relationships. We will set clear goals to address certain themes in your life and regularly review your aims and progress. Where appropriate I will gently and sympathetically challenge your irrational or unhelpful thinking to focus you on the conflict between your attitude and your goal. I will not give you advice but will help you find the answers and clarity you need to find the answers for yourself.

Therapy should be flexible to fit in with your lifestyle, so don’t worry if your life means that meeting face to face is tricky. Research shows that online therapy is just as effective as face to face. You are welcome to select the method which suits you best, or to blend face to face, online and telephone sessions in a way that works for you

What happens next?

It's easy. Get in touch by phone or email to arrange a time to have an initial complimentary 15 minute chat about what it is you want to look at and I can answer all of your questions. If you want to go ahead, you can choose your weekly therapy session and we can get started.

I look forward to hearing from you and to supporting you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
