About me

Reaching out for therapy is a courageous act. It can mean that you feel anxious, lost, burned out, ‘not enough’… We all have our unique stories, and I would be privileged to hear yours. Therapy could help to reframe the way you think, feel, or behave. I see therapeutic change as the process of bringing into awareness, exploring, understanding, and most importantly accepting different aspects of the self. This way life can be lived more authentically, meaningfully, and creatively. I provide an open, non-discriminatory, and caring space for you to share whatever it is that's on your mind. I believe in healing power of being truly seen, heard, and understood and as a therapist I intend to facilitate it. Our work will be collaborative with full respect of your autonomy.

Training, qualifications & experience

About me:

Over the years I gained experience as a counsellor within the NHS and charity setting, where I supported range of diverse clients of different backgrounds, age groups and presentations.

For 8 years I worked at a school for children and young people with autism.  My role there as a Teacher and Yoga/Mindfulness Facilitator was a part of the Occupational Therapy programme and reached out to students, teachers, and parents. The holistic approach of yoga and meditation enriched my therapeutic practice. I believe that the mind/body connection is an inherent part of our wellbeing and needs to be tended to.

My approach:

I am a qualified integrative/relational counsellor. It means that I am trained in variety of psychotherapeutic approaches, so I can help clients according to their unique needs. I believe that human behaviour is best understood by looking at the whole person individually, and there is no one method which holds an answer. Most importantly I emphasise building a human connection, where a deep level of care and trust is established.

I hold a Masters degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a fully insured private practitioner.

I offer short and long-term therapy in English and Polish.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
