About me

Good day and a warm greeting,

I am Abieyuwa Sonia Ebenezer-Bamigbayan, but you may refer to me as Sonia. I am a certified Person-Centered Counselor and a practitioner of positive psychology. Additionally, I am a qualified life coach trained in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Emotional Freedom Techniques, and Matrix Reimprinting, with a focus on trauma-informed care. I have extensive experience providing therapeutic services to individuals of all ages, including children, young people, adults, and parents.

ASEB Consultancy offers both online and telephone counselling services. Our goal is to provide warm, empathetic, and professional service in a safe and compassionate environment. We tailor our services to meet your individual needs and commit to working with you to discuss your thoughts, feelings, and concerns in a non-judgmental manner at your pace.

Therapeutic rapport is typically established through active listening, the demonstration of empathy, and acceptance to initiate a deep healing process that brings about calmness, a genuine sense of relief, clarity, and liberation.

I am of the opinion that each client's experience is distinctive to them; thus, it is essential to conduct an initial free 30 minutes consultation to ascertain the nature of the counselling sessions and address any questions or concerns. It is time to embark on the journey towards leading a more satisfied, harmonious, and well-balanced life that you truly deserve.

Training, qualifications & experience

The majority of my professional experience has been focused on addressing a range of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression, and childhood trauma, as well as issues related to self-harm, PTSD, cultural challenges, domestic abuse, grief/bereavement, work/family/relationship conflicts, work-related chronic stress, and personal development. In my work with clients, I draw on my extensive training and practical experience to provide effective and adaptable counselling services through both online and telephone modalities.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
