About me

In therapy I work by putting your needs and goals at the centre of the therapy, we will work together to make sure that therapy is not a scary place to be- but one where you feel safe and confident each session and understand yourself best.

I am also very aware how overwhelming coming to therapy can be but with that risk comes great reward for you and so if you feel you need support I will do my utmost to ensure you feel safe and secure as you need space to figure out what is best for you, then implement your needs.

I believe everyone has the ability within them to achieve their goals and potential. Sometimes get just a bit stuck, or through upbringing or life circumstances we learn ways of being that drag us down. I aim through my therapy and work to provide support to many people in these situations and allow them more clarity and comfort in their everyday life.

Life is hard and fighting yourself is even harder- but through putting you first we can work through things together and in therapy give you that voice to hear yourself in ways you never have before.

My work is usually from a person centred base and working around that integrative and solution focused work. I also have experience working from a CBT base as well as trauma based work.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have been with the British Psychological Society since 2012.

I am qualified up-to Master's level in Psychology and have an undergraduate degree is Psychology.

I have also worked for MIND as a mentor also.

I have since then moved into therapy and have been a fully qualified counsellor since 2019. I have worked for numerous organisations in that time, including MIND the national mental health charity as well as youth charities and charities that help our emergency services. I also work with an ADHD charity and work closely with those processing ADHD or looking to have an ADHD diagnosis.

I also have qualification supporting Autistic individuals, have the ability to do group therapy. I also have experience in Couples Counselling and working with young children, but only take this on in a case-by-case basis.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
