About me

I am a well qualified, experienced psychotherapist. I have many years' experience of working as a therapist, 15 of which were spent in NHS mental health services. I am qualified as a Jungian Analyst and trained to work with individual adults, and I teach and supervise trainee therapists for various training bodies.
My approach aims to develop a secure relationship within which psychological suffering can heal. Negative, self destructive and self defeating ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving can often be understood as ways of coping with emotional pain, which may have been buried in the unconscious for a long time. Psychotherapy helps the client learn to recognise, think about and accept what is going on in a non judgmental, confidential atmosphere, developing insight and understanding. This experience enables and empowers the client to learn to make different, healthier choices in the present.
Sessions last for 50 minutes and take place at least once weekly. All my work begins with an assessment in which the prospective client and I think about the client's difficulties and whether psychotherapy is the appropriate approach to them. If we think we can work together, we discuss and agree the terms under which the work will proceed. If not, I can help the client to find a more appropriate alternative approach.
Located near J12/13 of the M1 and the A5, I practise within easy reach of Milton Keynes, Bedford, Luton/Dunstable and Leighton/Linslade. Clients also travel from most parts of Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Buckinghamshire. I also see clients who are able to travel from further afield.

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
