About me

Counselling offers the opportunity to talk through issues and difficulties, with the aim of working towards living a more satisfactory and resourceful life - the Counsellor at all times respecting the aims and objectives of the individual. Most of us at some time in our life experience times of stress, emotional or relationship difficulties, depression, bereavement, anxiety, family issues or may want to look at our own personal growth or other issues that affect our lives.

An opportunity to share our thoughts and feelings with another person and be listened to, in a uniquely 'private' and confidential environment, away from the interruptions of everyday life, may enable change to occur.

I work from my home in Rotherfield, and also online using 'Zoom', working with Individuals, Young people 11 - 18 yrs)Couples. The room I use is quiet, private, warm and comfortable. It is easy to park a car on the premises and there is a separate entrance to ensure privacy. For all Counselling work, confidentiality is always of the utmost importance and this will be observed from the enquiry stage and throughout the sessions. This will be discussed with you before counselling begins.

I am trained as a Person-Centred Counsellor and this is my core model but I will work using other models if I think that this would benefit the individual client.

I also work online using 'Zoom'.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified with a Post Graduate Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling (Brighton University) in 1998. I am an Accredited Counsellor with BACP (MBACP). I have 24 years experience of working as a counsellor.

I am also a qualified Counselling Supervisor (Diploma in Counselling Supervision 2005)and have worked as a counselling supervisor for 15 years.

I have had 12 years experience of working as a Counsellor, Supervisor and Counselling Manager in a charity in Tunbridge Wells where I counselled Children and Adults, supervised Trainee and Qualified Counsellors and managed a team of Counsellors.

I currently work with Adults in my Private Practice at home and Teenagers / Young Adults (11 - 18 years) in a school setting and in my private practice at home. I have experience of working with a wide range of issues with both adults and children.

I see Teenagers and Adults for one-to-one work and Couples for relationship counselling at my home in Rotherfield or online.

I specialise in bereavement work.

I also offer Counselling Supervision to Trainee and Qualified Counsellors.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
