About me
Hello,
I currently work on zoom across the country and face to face in Suffolk.
There are so many varied reasons for starting to seek support, anxiety, depression and bereavement to name a few. Whatever the challenge or reason for seeking counselling we can talk about it. Counselling is a confidential space where anything can be explored. I am there to listen, not to judge or offer solutions. I can draw on my training in the broad range of psychological approaches to aid the exploration of the challenge. I aim to create a solid and safe environment to build a relatonshiop and work together to explore what’s going on for you, giving you a new perspective. A perspective which will enable you to make choices which fit you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Graduate Certificate in Counselling Psychology from City University London and a Degree in Counselling from University of Suffolk.
I worked at the Caterpillar Centre in Woodbridge with parents for 3 years.
I have specialised experience working for Petals as a baby loss counsellor.
I have over 4years of experience working with many different challenges;
Postnatal distress or trauma
Overwhelming life experiences.
Feeling stuck and not sure where their place in the world is
loss and bereavement.
Controlled by an addiction or relationship.
I have extensive experience of working via Zoom and telephone.
Before training as a counsellor I lived and worked abroad for eight years in Vienna and Amsterdam. I worked in both small and large international organisations. On returning to the UK I worked in the music industry with bands, managers, crew and management companies. I went on to work within the media and entertainment industry before starting a family and moving out of London. The thing that tied all my work experience together is a love of meeting people from different backgrounds. It has been an education and has set a great foundation for my counselling practice.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
