About me

I work with adults (18+) experiencing a variety of issues, including relationships, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, bereavement and grief.

My approach:
I use a person-centred approach in therapy. This allows you to explore your thoughts and inner feelings in a safe, caring, and supportive environment, and at your own pace. My therapeutic style is gentle and non-judgemental. I endeavour to offer a space that enables you to feel accepted, nurtured, and supported.
I’m interested in you as a whole person. I not only listen to your difficulties, but also to your interests and aspirations, facilitating a holistic view of what may be of help to you.

What happens in a therapy session:
You simply express whatever is bothering you. It could be a difficult event in your life, and/or troubling feelings about yourself or others. I will listen to you attentively, working with your feelings, emotions, verbal and non-verbal expressions, providing feedback when appropriate.
As our work together progresses, you may gain a sense of clarity, strength, a greater ability to tolerate difficulties, or the enthusiasm to try something new. This can often involve tapping into your inner wisdom for potential solutions.

About my work:
I work full time in private practice as a counsellor and psychotherapist. I have previously worked in a psychotherapy research clinic with clients from all walks of life and who had a diverse range of issues. I have also facilitated groups on self-esteem and relationship improvement.

The forms of therapy I offer:
I offer both short-term and long-term therapy. Each counselling session lasts up to 50 minutes.
Face to face therapy takes place at comfortable and confidential premises in Glasgow city centre. Online therapy can be anywhere UK and worldwide (please ask me first if based in US or Canada).

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
