About me

I'm a dedicated psychotherapist and a hypnotherapist specialising in uncovering the depths of the unconscious mind to facilitate genuine healing and transformation by guiding individuals on a journey of self-exploration and understanding. With a wealth of experience and extensive training, I specialise in addressing a wide array of emotional challenges, including depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, inner conflict, personal growth, relationship issues, procrastination, bereavement, parenting, life transitions, self esteem, stress/anger management, trauma, women's issues and work related issues.

Training, qualifications & experience

My educational journey includes earning a Master of Counselling from the University of Hong Kong, complemented by certifications in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy and Breathwork. Since relocating to the UK in 2021, I've become a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). In my practice, I advocate for an integrative and tailored approach to therapy, drawing from techniques such as Ericksonian Hypnotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),  Psychoeducation, Breathwork, and Emotional Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy, NLP, Rewind Technique and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Together, we'll embark on a journey towards healing and growth, fostering awareness of core issues and facilitating transformative change as you explore and understand more about yourself

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I believe in delving into the core values and inner resources of our clients by exploring the unconscious mind through metaphor, storytelling, visualisation, and imagery and the use of language... By bypassing the limitations of words and adjectives, we facilitate a deeper understanding of emotions and experiences, empowering clients to unlock their true potentials and strengths.

Testimonials

1. "Vivienne Wong is a well qualified, compassionate counsellor, who always opens my eyes to the milestones I've already achieved in my healing process, and makes me realise new paths where I can grow. She is really good at helping me deconstruct complicated emotions, and find meaning them. I went to therapy before, but it wasn't a good match for me, and so I'm even more grateful to have found her. She uses different approaches based on the problems I face, and always leaves me with something to work on. She is a good listener, and easy to understand as well. I highly recommend her, as she aspires to help her clients heal, and not to keep them "coming back". I spent one month intensively when I was going through hard times, and now I check in with her every few months. She made me believe that therapy is really worth the investment; no matter how well you are coping alone, a good counsellor can help you advance much more
easily."

2.  "After four sessions with Vivienne Wong, I am very grateful for the amount of progress I feel I have made following a crisis in my life. Her calm, supportive and warm approach has been just what I need - she has helped me to explore new dimensions of what I have been experiencing and feeling, and to go really deeply into the underlying issues. And she gives great and wise advice! I would highly recommend her."

3. "Vivienne Wong is a well spoken, intelligent person who helps you find your own path and leads you through conflicting thoughts. She uses different techniques and builds the structure of a session around the individuals pace. She really helps to reflect on situations with more clarity."

4. "In the past month that I've been working with Vivienne Wong, I have had the chance to openly express my negative emotions without fear of judgement. She has helped me learn about techniques to help me manage these day-to-day. I've been looking for someone to talk to for a while and I'm happy that I've found her."

5. "I've only had a few sessions with Vivienne Wong when I started seeing changes I could feel myself improving and learning how to accept myself. Vivienne makes you feel understood, supported and very comfortable. In my case, I was scared I'd feel judged or criticised by my therapist but there's none of that with there. You feel very accepted and safe. It feels like talking to a friend that always has the right words for you but that you know won't lie to you. I totally recommended her! You can see the improvement right away."
