About me

“You can’t calm the storm, so stop trying.
What you can do is calm yourself.
The storm will pass”.
Timber Hawkeye

Hi, I’m Vienna a fully accredited BABCP Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. I have worked in the mental health field for over 12 years and have worked for the NHS and private organisations, with adults and children in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I currently run my private practice, Chase's Place Psychotherapy, from my office in Sittingbourne. I work with adults, children and adolescents.

Are you feeling….

Low?
Anxious?
Angry?

Are you a worrier?

Do you worry that all this worrying is bad for you?
Do you have a low self esteem?
Do you not see yourself the way other people see you?
Do you sometimes feel like you're going mad and you don't know how you're going to get through the day?

I can provide a safe space to help you explore your thoughts and emotions and we can work together to help you find ways to move forward that are right for you. We can look at strategies which could help you manage any current problems you may be experiencing.

I am non-judgemental, empathic, and will take the sessions at your pace. This is the time for you to tell your story and be heard.

My aim is to help you improve your mood and wellbeing so that you are able to leave our sessions feeling empowered and motivated, and as though you are no longer carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders!

I use an integrative approach including ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), Compassion focussed therapy (CFT) and mindfulness. I also have a special interest in the inner child model, where we can look in more depth at where your problems may have originated. Low self esteem is often formed in childhood and can sometimes form unhelpful core beliefs which can impact our emotions and behaviours today. Looking at the origins of these core beliefs and working through them using the inner child model can be a very healing process, as it helps us to see how our long held beliefs can have such an affect on our day to day lives.

CBT involves practicing strategies between the sessions, and the more you practice these strategies the more you can learn to manage your thoughts and behaviours. The point of CBT is to help enable you to become your own therapist, so you won’t need to see me anymore!

With the right strategies and techniques, you will be able to reduce your stress and anxiety and live a happier, healthier life.

There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.

Choosing a therapist can be difficult, so I offer a 15 minute no obligation phone call so you can decide if I’m the right therapist for you!

Client Testimonials

Vienna has always made me feel comfortable during my sessions. She helped me create a safe environment where I was able to discuss all of my issues in depth. She really listened and showed a genuine willingness to help me work through my problems. She gave me all the tools I needed to help get through some tough times and I am very appreciative of her help. I wouldn’t be where I am today without her, I am feeling so much more positive.

Vienna was fantastic with my son who has learning difficulties and anxiety. She tailored every session to his needs and interests, and even made sure that all of his strategies involved superheroes which are his favourite thing! He now has so much more confidence and is a lot calmer, I can’t thank her enough!

Vienna was excellent, knowledgable, patient, friendly and professional. She was incredibly helpful, approachable and made me feel comfortable, she gave me a toolkit of techniques which have been really useful.

Vienna was very helpful and had a kind and gentle approach with my daughter, who felt it was a safe place where she was listened to and helped. I am so grateful for all the help she has given my little girl.

Vienna has honestly given me the best experience of therapy I could have had. She listened, never judged me and I always left the sessions feeling as though a weight had lifted. She has a good sense of humour which made the sessions feel easier and more comfortable. She has helped me to better understand myself and I feel better for the future.

I walked in a short while ago in a terrible place in my life, with my daily life spiralling out of control. I leave feeling solid and in control of my emotions with a sound mind. I no longer have self-doubt and judgement of my personality. Vienna is responsible for instilling confidence in myself to stick to my beliefs and to love myself again.

I have found Vienna’s support invaluable. She has helped me to understand my condition in such a way that I have been able to overcome many aspects of my OCD after living with it for almost 40 years! She has given me the confidence to to make further progress on my own and I now believe I can.

Vienna was incredibly supportive and patient in helping me understand how to change the way I approach situations that would normally bring me down and affect my mood. I’m leaving the sessions feeling confident in my ability to direct my actions and thoughts more proactively.
