About me

I offer a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space to explore any problems and to work through them in a way that is most helpful to each person. I believe that everyone is unique and so the circumstances surrounding each person's difficulties are unique also.

I offer a caring, empathetic environment where thoughts and feelings can be discussed freely with someone trained to listen carefully, to help create an understanding and to make sense of any issues and help you move forward.

As a Registered and Accredited member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), therefore, I work within their ethical framework.

I am an Integratively trained counsellor, my foundations are in Psychodynamic, Humanistic and CBT Counselling, but I am not solely confined to one school of thinking. Every person is different, we all have our own experiences and we are all living in our own context.

People don’t fit in boxes.

I work with each individual in ways which best suit them, meeting their individual needs, and working together in way that is most helpful to them.

I have a diverse range of knowledge and varied skill base, including (but not limited to): abuse, domestic violence, terminal illness, shame, trauma, anxiety, stress, depression, bereavement, relationship issues, separation, divorce, infertility and miscarriages,  work related problems, mood disorders, addiction and much more.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • F.D. Integrative Counselling.
  • Cert. Counselling Skills.
  • BSc (Hons) Psychology.
  • Dip. Inner Child Work

I am continuously adding different training and courses for client work, as this allows me to work competently with a large number of issues, for example, anxiety, anger, Shame, Abuse, self harm, domestic violence, depression, sexual abuse, abortion, bereavement, loss, attachment, relationship issues, separation, divorce, trauma, complex relational trauma, childhood issues, and more.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
