About me

I provide relational therapy with a focus on the integration of our bodily, emotional and thought-based processes. What does this mean in practice? It means that, without us being aware, some experiences can create a deep-seated imprint on our psyche. It is therefore my belief that therapy which pays attention to all three spheres (physical, emotional and cognitive levels of being) can substantially support us in moving forward and fostering resilience and inner balance.

I am a BACP accredited Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and fully certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, which means that I am trained holistic approaches that pay attention to the overall balance of body, mind, emotional spheres, and spirit in general. At its baseline, my practice follows humanistic philosophies and is trauma-informed.

This means that in my role as a counsellor, I do not tend to take an 'expert' stance and instead hold the belief that most human beings are naturally oriented towards growth. In this vein, therapy, can be seen as a co-operative process in which we can explore, untangle, and resolve life blocks or constricting patterns together.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
