About me
Hello, I'm Vasili.
I am a qualified and accredited Psychotherapist in Twickenham (TW2) and Surbiton (KT6) in South West London. My services include personalised, confidential, and relaxed one-to-one therapy sessions that address various life challenges and difficulties. As an accredited UKCP and BABCP member, I employ an integrative and person-centred therapy style that helps my clients make sense of their situations and find appropriate solutions to overcome their challenges.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in integrative psychotherapy, which draws from strongly evidenced psychological approaches. However, my thinking is primarily influenced by psychodynamic and psychoanalytic literature, emphasising the therapeutic relationship that fosters a safe and supportive alliance between myself and my clients. This enables us to explore how past experiences and relationships affect current choices, values, beliefs, and relationships with others.
My clinical view is that most, if not all, of our psychic troubles stem from early life experiences and traumatic events. Therefore, in our work together, we revisit and process earlier traumas and life experiences to lead to more creative ways of living and resolve unhelpful or dysfunctional patterns. As a result, clients will learn more effective ways to manage life's inevitable stress and pain.
Achieving your desired outcome in therapy is tailored to your goals, and we work together to understand your inner experience on both a conscious and unconscious level. We identify and let go of avoidance strategies that have been learned to cope with difficult experiences, ultimately gaining greater access to our inner experience and alleviating symptoms, a more coherent sense of self, and removing internal barriers to leading the life we want.
Sessions take place weekly on the same day and time each week.
My clinical experience encompasses over 10 years in applied psychology, where I have worked in a clinical capacity as a psychological therapist and a supervisor across public and private settings. Currently, I split my time between a busy NHS psychological therapies service, where I work as a Principal Psychologist, and my private practice. Additionally, I undertake ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training, and I am particularly interested in childhood traumatic experiences and sexuality.
If you are interested in making an appointment or discussing the possibility of psychotherapy/counselling sessions, don't hesitate to contact me by phone at 07988 990 350 or through my website. I strive to respond to phone calls, emails, and texts within 48 hours.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists. BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
