About us

Are you experiencing depression, low self-esteem and problems maintaining relationships? Are issues such as past trauma or grief/loss, affecting your quality of life?  I will provide you with a warm, confidential, safe and non-judgemental space in which to explore these issues.  I can't provide you with the answers, but I will work collaboratively with you to help you find them, listening, supporting and sometimes challenging you as we explore your present, your past, your life experiences and relationships, helping you to make sense of why you feel the way you do.

I work with individuals age 18 and over. My practice is LGBT+ affirming and neurodiversity affirming. Sessions can be either in person in ME1, ME2 or online for those who prefer to work remotely and for more flexibility. I can offer a free 15 minute consultation to help you decide if I might be the right fit for you.

Are you a student counsellor seeking personal therapy? Counselling training is a costly process! Personal therapy is an essential part of a counsellor's self development and I experienced my own financial struggles when it came to seeking counselling during my training.  I offer a low cost counselling service to counsellors in training. Please contact me for more information.

National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Wheelchair user access info
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

There are two options for in person sessions; I practice from a health centre in ME2 which has a ramp to the entrance and a car park. I also practice in ME1 but there are 2 flights of stairs and public car parking only.
