About me
Stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and many other mental health problems are exacerbated by isolation so getting help can be a huge step in the right direction. I am experienced in working with a wide variety of issues and recognise that some people or couples have very specific symptoms but others have a general malaise, low mood or sense of something not being right. Others have lived with underlying stress, generalised anxiety, depression, relationship issues, behavioural patterns, grief or low self esteem for many years.
I believe that our emotional, relational and mental health play a very important but often under emphasised role in promoting a sense of well being. I know that when we are struggling it can be difficult to reach out for help even though we may feel very alone. I am an experienced, compassionate, collaborative and creative counsellor and I provide a confidential, non-judgemental space for you to express and explore what is happening in your life. This may help you come to a deeper understanding of yourself, your feelings and your relationships and enable you to make more informed choices, as well as providing you with support. I work with individuals and couples.
The first step is often the hardest to take but getting some help can be a great relief. So please do get in contact by telephone or email if you would like to explore the possibility of working together. We can then arrange a time for an initial consultation. At the end of this we can decide whether further sessions with me are likely to be helpful for you at this time. I believe that investing in your own well being is a wise and courageous choice.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
