I am based in the Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire area and offer counselling and psychotherapy to adults aged 18+. I provide both short and long term therapy and my approach integrates a range of effective therapeutic techniques, tailored to my clients needs. As an integrative therapist I take the view there is no single approach that can treat each client and each person needs to be considered as an individual. My philosophy is that everybody is capable of change and has the potential to be the best they can be.
Background and Experience
I have worked as a Registered Nurse in the NHS for almost twenty years and trained as an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist in 2014, working in a range of settings including the NHS, with a range of psychological difficulties.
Psychological Issues and Speciality
I work with a range of issues such as anxiety (including phobias, generalised anxiety, panic disorder and worry), depression (including bipolar disorder and low mood), attachment disorder (including childhood experiences), bereavement and loss, life changes, low self confidence and low self esteem, obsessive compulsive disorder, physical health issues (including cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome/ME, chronic pain, heart/respiratory disease and diabetes), relationship issues, stress (including work related stress),and trauma.
Whilst I work with this wide range of psychological issues, I have a specialist interest and training in working with clients with anxiety and depression related to long-term physical health conditions and medically unexplained symptoms.
Evidence-Based Psychological Therapies
I employ a range of evidence-based modalities and approaches which include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Attachment-based Psychotherapy, Mindfulness-based Interventions, Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
What to Expect Following Initial Contact
After making the initial contact, we will arrange a mutually convenient time for an initial consultation which carries no obligation to continue. This session will be 60 minutes and will give you an opportunity to get a sense of how I work as well as for us to gain a deeper understanding of the difficulties you are experiencing. It will also give you an opportunity to decide whether I am the right therapist for you, one of the most important elements of successful therapy.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

I work within a strict professional code of ethical standards as set out of the BACP, which includes the principle of confidentiality. I engage in professional clinical supervision, according to BACP requirements. I also hold an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate. My practice is strongly committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.
