About me

Hi,

are you looking for a therapist that will listen to you ? I can offer you support and a safe empathic space where you can unpack your thoughts and feelings and begin to make sense of what may be going on for you. Once you can fully understand yourself you will be armed with a new self awareness that can make life feel more meaningful.

Perhaps you feel dissatisfied or unhappy ? My belief is that however difficult or upsetting life feels right now, we can work together to help you move forward and live a more fulfilled life. By considering therapy, maybe you are saying that you want things to be better. This means you have hope that things can change.

I am a fully qualified Psychotherapist and I work using a psychodynamic approach that involves exploring your present difficulties and how they may connect to past events or relationships. We may notice something that's happening in the present moment in the room and how it may relate to your life in general.

I have experience of working with a wide range of life issues such as family difficulties, relationship problems, depression and anxiety, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, social anxiety and health anxiety among other issues.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have an MSc in Psychodynamic counselling and Psychotherapy from Birkbeck, University of London. I am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.

Certificate of Higher Education in Counselling and Counselling Skills from Birkbeck, University of London.

Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills, CPCAB.

I work for a homeless project and in private practice.

I work for a community counselling service in Bromley, where I have gained experience in working with domestic violence.

I have worked with OneinFour, a charity working with adults who have experienced childhood sexual violence.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
