About me

I offer a holistic approach to trauma and life transitions. A supportive place for you to be heard, find answers and reconnect. No more suffering in silence.

I can help particularly if you are feeling anxious, depressed, confused or isolated, or if you are going through a difficult life change. I often work alongside clients going through a bereavement, divorce, or who might be adjusting to a new diagnosis such as Long Covid, Chronic Fatigue or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Adjusting to a new illness, injury or stage in life can be a roller coaster ride, with its ups and downs both physically and emotionally. Your feelings about yourself and your situation will also play a role in either helping or hindering your adjustment and recovery.

Training, qualifications & experience

I bring together tools from Psychology, Neuroscience and Counselling and have gone on to specialise in trauma.

I offer a mixture of talking therapy and more body based therapies so we can also have a conversation directly with your body and the way your trauma is being stored and expressed currently.

This might include some somatic listening in exercises to increase self awareness and understanding. Then using therapeutically beneficial movements and breathing techniques to take your body out of its emergency mode, so it can process the difficult emotions properly and not have them stuck deep inside you or coming up on a loop when you don't want them to.

If you are feeling broken, these therapies can also help you to put yourself back together in new ways and reconnect with yourself again as a whole person.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Life rarely goes how we expect it to and it is common to go through ups and downs. This is not a failure on your part, but a part of the different seasons of our lives. We all go through dark times, and they often add depth to our lives in the long run, but suffering alone along the way can be difficult. I can offer you a companion on that journey.

I won't tell you what you should be doing. My role is to help strengthen your own internal resources and support you in making the right decisions for yourself. I will listen carefully to understand your current life situation and ask you questions to help you explore this in detail – at a pace that is comfortable for you. I look forward to speaking with you.

In your first session I will listen carefully to your needs and we will agree a way to work together.
