About me

I am an Integrative Therapist registered with the BACP.

I understand we experience our world individually, but collectively we all face challenges, difficulties and choices along the way. Sometimes we can do this alone and sometimes we need help.

In our sessions, I aim to offer you honesty, kindness and compassion to build the foundations for a trusting therapeutic relationship. I hope to provide you with the right environment to feel safe to share whatever you choose to bring. I can offer you a dedicated space where I will meet you as you 'are'. I will work at your pace, I will hear and be fully present as you tell your story. I will offer no judgement or advice and respond with respect and understanding.

I have experience working with trauma which has often been denied or painfully avoided in the past and continues to be stored in the body today - unacknowledged and unheard. I work with emotional, social and relational issues. Together we can work to find the best way forward for you. We can consider your choices and ways to help you cope 'to live in the present moment, where life is found.'

Training, qualifications & experience

As an Integrative Therapist, I may draw upon more than one approach to inform our work. This means I can tailor our work together to meet your individual needs. I work with Adult Individuals and Couples (heterosexual and same-sex), offering long-term and short-term therapy.

I have clinical experience working alongside survivors of physical, emotional and sexual abuse. I have personal and clinical experience working with chronic medical diagnosis and end-of-life care. Throughout this work, I have supported clients experiencing bereavement, grief, loss, depression, and anxiety with a particular interest in relational issues.

  • BACP - Certificate of Proficiency
  • The Berne Institute - Certificate Introduction to Transactional Analysis

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
