About me
I am a Masters and BACP accredited Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and an Executive Coach.
Do you feel a gap between where you are and where you want to be? Into this gap can walk anxiety, depression and self loathing. We begin sessions with an optional mindfulness 3 minute breathing space to help you quieten your mind.
This gap can also feel like experiencing life on repeat. The same self loathing, anxiety loop, returning again and again in different forms, with depressed feelings, leading to despair at feeling like everyone else is ok or even great, when you're not.
Together , in conversation alongside each other, let's understand what's happening, where it's coming from, bring it to awareness and work actively to change it. Bring your fear, panic, sadness, disappointment, lack of meaning, regret, life panic, anticipatory grief, low self-esteem, loss of direction, relationship struggles, climate distress, your cancer or end of life journey. We will walk through it together. Change is much closer than you might think.
How I work:
If you are interested in exploring therapy with me, please send me an email. We will then have a 15 minute free phone chat to see if we are a good fit. If we both decide we are, we will find a time we can meet weekly on phone or zoom (your preference) for 6-8 weeks. After this time we will review together and continue weekly or fortnightly for as long as needed. Alternatively you can take a pause, and come back to do another piece of work together, (space allowing), later in the year, or in the future. Many clients like to continue fortnightly sessions for 6-12 months after the initial weekly work, and this has been very effective. Many also return after time has passed. Life continues to have challenges and the therapeutic relationship once formed, can be returned too.
I have a Masters in Psychotherapy and 22 years of experience with adults and adolescents. I have clients across the UK and Europe so work remotely on Zoom or phone, for 6 weeks to 2 years depending on what you need.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a Masters in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. I have full BACP accreditation and 22 years of clinical experience. From 2006-2017 I worked in hospital outpatient and inpatient settings running therapy groups in the USA. I also assisted in running their EAP service for individuals. Since returning to the UK (I was trained in Oxford) I have been the group psychotherapist for the Rape Crisis Centre alongside developing a thriving private practice for individual clients. I am particularly interested in clients highly motivated to change. I am also a certified Executive Coach with clients in London, Paris and Berlin. I have a specific interest and skill in conflict resolution within high level management.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
