Training, qualifications & experience

Post Graduate Diploma in Consultative Supervision

MSc Play Therapy

Post Graduate Diploma Counselling

BACP Accredited Member, Registered

Registered Play Therapist and BAPT Member

B.Ed. (Hons)

I am an integrative Counsellor/Psychotherapist with my foundations being person centred.  This means that I can use different therapeutic approaches to suit each individual's uniqueness. By giving you the opportunity to work through and help you understand your thoughts and feelings in a safe environment, this can help you feel empowered and gain acceptance/control over your experiences/situations (past and present) that are effecting your quality of life. You can explore what you choose, confidentially at your own pace without being judged.

In addition I provide Play Therapy (child friendly therapy for children aged 3-11).

I am able to use play therapy and sand tray therapy skills where appropriate if the client is happy to embrace it. When words are hard to find this therapy can bridge the gap and enable communication via non verbal communication.

My working experience - abuse, self harm, low self esteem, attachment, depression, anxiety, loss and bereavement, stress, trauma, separation/divorce, eating disorders, sexual health and reproduction and many more.

I am also a qualified supervisor providing Clinical and Consultative Supervision.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
