About me

I have been working as a Psychotherapist since 2004. I have specialist training in trauma therapy and work with complex trauma as well as depression, anxiety, bereavement and somatic issues. I am particularly interested in threshold moments, where things feel like they can't go on in the same way, whilst a new way has not yet emerged.

You can get a small sense of me by watching a short video on my website

H O W   I   C A N   H E L P   Y O U

I support clients to contain the troubling situation they are in so that the impact it may have on their life and their relationships is not spiralling out of control. We work together to identify what is needed to bring movement into a seemingly stuck situation and to find a way of integrating new behaviours into a more conscious and choiceful way of being. I believe that it is by connecting with our own potential and our inner resources that we heal, grow and expand.

Together, we explore current patterns and how they impact on your life and your relationships. Once you have become more fully aware of them and understand how you may actively maintain them, you can start experimenting with change. In the safety of the therapeutic relationship you may be willing to take the risk to express yourself more fully and feel yourself expand. From that place of awareness you can experiment with different behaviour. At that point you may see real change in your relationships and your environment and I will support you in finding a way to integrate this new way of being into your life.

I have witnessed many times what a profound difference this way of working can make to peoples' lives. That is why I am deeply passionate about my work.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Supervision

In person

If you and your client were animals, what kind of animals would you both be? What is happening and what is not happening between you? If the organisation you work for was a room, what would it look like? Would it be tidy, clean, big, small, messy? How does it feel to be in this room? As a supervisor I work with all orientations, including case workers, youth workers, counsellors, psychotherapists, teams and organisations.
