About me

I am a certified Counselling Professional and registered member of the BACP. I specialise in helping all people aged 5 and over identify the issues that are causing them distress, anxiety, and stress. I take great pride in the progress and success of my clients and look forward to helping you.

Although I am a qualified counsellor, I am also a person who has accessed therapy themselves previously which means that I fully understand that making the decision to seek help can be daunting. Knowing what kind of therapy you may need, or where to look can even be too much to deal with. It is important that you find the right therapist who makes you feel safe, understood, and not judged. Our initial contact would consist of around a 30 minute chat (no charge) so that I can learn a little more about you and so that you can see if I am the right counsellor for you.

Being a Person Centred counsellor, it means that I will work with you and will consider you the expert on yourself. I will not be able to solve or fix your problems for you, but I will help to empower you to not only gain a clearer insight into your thoughts and feelings but to also have the skills and coping strategies to deal with them and regain control of your life.

Alongside my private practice, I currently work for an organisation which specialises in supporting children and adults (and have experience of working with both) who have been a victim of sexual violence of any kind.

I am able to work with clients of any gender and race and aged 5 and over.

If you would like to discuss your situation in more detail, please feel free to contact me.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
