About me

Hello, I’m Silvia and I am an integrative-relational psychotherapeutic counsellor.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile - reaching out for professional support can be a significant step, it is important you find the right counsellor for your therapeutic needs, as well as someone you feel comfortable with. With this in mind, I offer a free brief introductory call to give us the opportunity to meet, and allow you to get a sense of what it may be like to work together.

There may be many different reasons that have led you here, you might be suffering in some way, or feel that something in your life needs to shift. I offer the space and time to, collaboratively, create an environment in which you can feel safe to express yourself and explore how to navigate what may be going on for you, as well as your wishes for change. I aim to make my approach affirming, warm and authentic and truly value the importance of creating a relationship of mutual trust.

I see the therapeutic relationship as the vessel through which exploration, insight and change can occur, leading to a more harmonious relationship with yourself and others. I draw upon elements of humanistic, psychodynamic and cognitive approaches, which allows me to tailor my way of being and working to your needs, preferences and responses.

This is your space and I am here listening, exploring and understanding with you. My aim is to be an attentive and empathic companion as we unfold your story and continue your journey of becoming.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Further information

Where:

Please note as of March 2024 I am beginning to transition all sessions to remote sessions. I offer video and telephone sessions.

How it works:

We will have an initial consultation session in which we will discuss your current situation, historical information and your wishes for therapy. Based on your current circumstances and preference we will agree to a set number of sessions, or we can work in an open-ended way with regular reviews.

Each person is unique therefore each therapeutic journey is as unique. I encourage feedback and open communication to ensure you are getting what you need from our sessions, and do my best to tailor my way of being and working to best suit your preferences and needs.
