About me

In counselling, I hope to support you to explore your thoughts, feelings and patterns of behaviour so that you develop more self-awareness and become closer to your true self, resulting in a shift from disconnect and anxiety to connection and an increased sense of self-worth.

A qualified therapeutic counsellor and also a tutor of counselling skills. I have experience of working both with adults on a one-to-one basis and children within schools.

As a counsellor, I have helped clients with issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement and relationships. I pride myself on my down-to-earth, honest and empathic approach.

I strongly believe in the value of therapy and the power it can give an individual in building a more present, meaningful existence.

There may be times in life when we struggle to continue as we are and understanding the meaning we give to life-events can be difficult.

The counselling will take place in a confidential setting, one in which I hope you will feel safe and free from judgement; one in which you may feel able to explore whatever you choose and at a pace which feels comfortable for you.

The first session gives you the opportunity to find out more about the counselling process and how it might be to work with me.

Feeling comfortable with your therapist is an important part of the process, and so we can discuss what approach you would like to take and the level of challenge you might be looking for/comfortable with.

Registered member of the BACP

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
