About me
Life comes with its fair share of challenges and pressures - work-related, family or relationship problems, loss and bereavement, the cost of living, chronic illness and parenting difficulties, to name but a few.
We might decide to pursue therapy as we have noticed that we feel overwhelmed and anxious; or flat, depressed and empty; or unsettled, doubting our selves, our value and our place in the world, but be unsure as to why. Some of us might come to therapy with more specific concerns around our childhood experiences, current relationships, work, parenting, a loss we have experienced, health issues, or our inner conflict around a big decision.
I provide a gentle, nurturing, non-judgemental and supportive space in which you can explore what you are thinking, how you are feeling, and what you notice yourself bumping up against in life. I will listen to you in an attuned way, in order that you feel really heard and understood. Together, we can unravel those aspects which feel unclear, confusing and conflicted, and also explore how childhood and past experiences may be contributing to some of the difficulties that you notice in life today.
I will endeavour to help you to come into a more compassionate, accepting and empathic relationship with yourself, in which you can trust your inner guidance, feel content and grounded and able to embrace all aspects of your life. I hope that together we can strengthen your sense of yourself as being 'okay' and 'good enough', valuing your own uniqueness, and with a confidence in your inner resources so that you are able to feel more in control of your life, emotions and choices.
If any of this feels resonant for you, feel free to reach out and make an enquiry.
With warm wishes,
Sarah

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I am an Integrative therapist, drawing on Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Systems, and Compassion-focussed theories in my work. I use mindfulness, visualisation, creativity, parts-focussed and somatic techniques in my work, depending on client preferences. I will flex my approach according to your needs and goals. Our work is a collaborative, negotiated process, mainly led by you and what you want to explore.
Counselling can really help to increase our awareness of why we feel how we do, do what we do, and what we need - both from ourselves and others. I would feel privileged to be able to accompany you on your counselling journey.
