About me

I am a BACP registered Psychodynamic Counsellor with 5 years of experience, offering long-term and fixed-term therapy in Leicester City Centre and online.

My role as a psychodynamic counsellor is to provide a confidential, safe, non-judgemental and neurodivergent-affirming space for you to talk through anything that is worrying you.

Working together, we can explore your world and any current issues you are experiencing, moving towards making sense of past events in your life, and discovering together how your significant relationships may have an impact on how you experience the world.
I also work somatically, integrating a number of breathing and body awareness techniques (interoception), which can help to keep you feeling grounded and help with processing any feelings that may arise during the session.

If you are feeling anxious, stressed, depressed, overwhelmed or just generally stuck in life, talking it through in counselling may help.

My specialist area is in neurodivergence, Autism and ADHD. I have 10 years prior experience as an Autism Specialist Mentor, supporting autistic and AuDHD students and staff in Higher Education.

You may be wondering about neurodivergence or looking for support with exploring your identity. If you would like a warm and confidential space to talk, please get in touch.

I also have experience working with loss and bereavement, ill health, ME/CFS, low self-esteem, and a number of other issues that may bring you to counselling.

How the sessions work:

Counselling sessions are weekly, 50 minutes long, on the same day and at the same time every week, either face-to-face or online via Zoom, and you are free to end your therapy at any time.

Your first session:

Following your initial contact via email. I will contact you to arrange our first session, either face-to-face or online. This will be an assessment session which is different from a counselling session and the fee is £40.

(Please check your spam folder if you have not received a reply from me within two working days).

The assessment session is 1 hour and is for you to ask me anything about the counselling process and for me to ask you a few more questions to find out a bit more about why you would like to come for counselling and what you would like to get out of it.

It is also an opportunity for you and me to see if we are a good fit for each other.

My current availability:
Wednesday afternoons from the end of April 2025.
Thursday daytime from the end of April 2025.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Wheelchair user access info
Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

My office is on the ground floor with flat access, however there is no disabled toilet facility in the building. The women's bathroom is on the ground floor with flat access and the men's bathroom is on the first floor via stairs.
