About me

I am a kind, calm therapist and I will make sure that you feel as relaxed as possible when you are working with me.  I know how hard it can be to open up to someone new.

I have specialised training to work with people who have an eating disorder or an addiction but I also work with many other types of problems or worries. Maybe you haven’t been diagnosed with either of these but you are worried about your habits and coping mechanisms and would like to talk. Maybe you feel low, anxious or unhappy. I am here to listen to you and help you work through what is bothering you so you can feel calmer, happier and more in control.

In our first session (which is half price) you will have the opportunity to tell me about yourself and why you are seeking therapy. I will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions and to decide whether we are a good fit. It is vital that you feel comfortable with the therapist you choose so you can be honest and feel safe.

I also run bespoke programmes for family members, carers or loved ones who are living with or looking after someone with an eating disorder or an addiction. This can be an incredibly difficult experience and the problem always impacts those around the sufferer. These sessions can be 2 hours to 2 days in length and are aimed at education, communication and planning for the future.

Ways of working:

  • Face-to-face in a lovely, bright room in Teddington Wellbeing Centre
  • Online therapy on zoom
  • Walk and talk therapy in Bushy Park  (when it’s not tipping down!)
  • Family programme takes place in Teddington Wellbeing Centre

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a first class degree in Integrative Relational Therapy. This method focusses on the importance of the relationship between therapist and client to open up the path towards understanding, changing and healing your problems.

I have worked in the Priory in a specialist Eating Disorder and Addiction Clinic and have extensive knowledge of treating these presentations along with other co-morbidities such as anxiety, depression, OCD and borderline personality disorder (now known as EUPD). I delivered the Priory’s Family Programme to support loved ones before a client returned home following treatment.

I have the Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders qualification covering: anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID and EDNOS. I can work with you whether you have an official diagnosis or are concerned about your eating habits and how they are impacting on you and your life.

I am experienced in addiction therapy. I have worked with groups and individuals, helping them to overcome many different kinds of addiction.

I am a BACP registered therapist. Registration number: 387928

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
