About me
Do you suffer with feelings of anxiety and depression? Do you struggle with the complexity and challenges of life? Do you procrastinate feeling life’s opportunities pass you by? Are there issues with relationships, feel unheard, repeat patterns of behaviour that lead to negative outcomes? Has your relationship broken down? Are all these issues having negative impacts on home and work life? We've all experienced times in our life when things just seem too much to bare?
Working collaboratively, I can help you deep dive into the feelings, thoughts, emotions that may be blocking the path to a happier you. In a confidential non-judgemental space we can work on anxiety issues, low self esteem, depression and build our confidence and autonomy. I believe we all have the answers within us and together in therapy we can explore your strengths, negative belief patterns and focus on coping strategies which facilitate reaching your goals. Counselling puts you, the client, at the heart of our work.
I have experience in working with young teens through to adults who have suffered traumatic events, environmental changes, loss, divorce and separation, relationship difficulties, women’s health issues and helping families that are dealing with neurodivergence struggles.
The relationship between client and therapist is key to a successful working alliance, therefore, I offer a free twenty minute discussion to enable you to get to know me and decide if I would be a good match for you, as I know the importance of finding the right therapist. My aim is for you to feel relaxed enough to confidentially share your thoughts and feelings in a comfortable, friendly, empathic environment. I look forward to meeting you and beginning your journey to a better you !!
Training, qualifications & experience
- CPCAB Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
- CPD Higher Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
- CPD trauma-informed practitioner
- Qualified Mentor for young people
I began my journey into counselling after experiencing the benefits of a relationship with a trusted professional and noticing personal improvements to my own mental health. Working with a professional to explore how our experiences shapes our thoughts, feelings, and actions we can obtain the ability to focus on which of these were beneficial and which were unhelpful.
I believe everyone has the ability to improve their mental health whatever their background or circumstance.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
