About me

Feeling overwhelmed with Anxiety or depression ?
Relationship challenges getting you down?

I know looking for a therapist can feel daunting. Hopefully after reading my page you will feel less overwhelmed and feel comforted about reaching out for support.

As a trauma trained psychotherapeutic counsellor I help my clients work through numerous issues that have impacted their wellbeing.

Having experienced the complexities of grief and loss, an understanding of abuse in its many forms, and the complexities of coping with a neurodivergent family, I am well aware of the difficulties this can present. These experiences can have a huge impact on our mental wellbeing and have far reaching consequences which can lead to feelings of anxiety and depression.

Through this experience my aim is to help clients feel supported in a way they feel understood.

Each individual's perceptions and experiences are valid. We all have our own story to share.

You may ask yourself questions like "Why am I struggling"?

Everyone seems to be coping much easier than I am !
I am usually resilient, what’s changed ?

Have you ever considered the changes have happened in your life, and how that’s has impacted your mental wellbeing ?

Feel like you’re wading through mud and getting nowhere? Do you feel detached, whilst operating day to day tasks, barely remembering how you made it through?

Are you in need support but don’t have an idea of where to start ? Or what that looks like?

Is life becoming ever more challenging? Is looking after yourself or family members becoming harder, do you feel alone in your efforts ?

Are you living in a neurodivergent household and it’s taking its toll, or, are you, or a loved one, going through a diagnosis?

Lost a sense of who you are whilst drowning in negative emotions, causing anxiety, low mood or anger?

Coping with unruly teens, whilst having elderly parents? Is menopause affecting your coping abilities, or are you dealing with work stressors?

Sudden loss in the family?

Suffered an abusive relationship, and find yourself repeating patterns of choosing emotionally unavailable or abusive, controlling partners?

Are you carrying around unprocessed issues from childhood that are unconsciously impacting relationships, sabotaging the future you, preventing you moving forward?

If any of this resonates then be assured I’m here to support you.

How I work

Sometimes, we just need a helping hand working through all the external confusion, to find what really makes us happy.

You’ll leave therapy feeling heard, supported, and validated.

Collaboratively working together selecting methods from numerous disciplines, means the work is tailor made to each individual.

Working together, we can deep dive into feelings and emotions that may be overwhelming you. Helping you unpack piece by piece, sharing the daily burden you are carrying around.

What I offer

Through my own personal experiences, I am able to connect with clients, supporting them empathically.

On our journey working together in therapy we can explore negative belief patterns, and uncover whats been potentially holding you back or causing anxiety, upset and depression. I can help you slowly move forward,  incorporating your own personal strengths, and coping strategies.  Helping make sense of your struggles and where they originated from.

Counselling puts you, the client, at the heart of our work.

Who I work with

I work with adults and older teens that have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACES), relationship difficulties, loss, neurodivergence, life stages as well as adults who experience work stress.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
