About me
Hello and welcome, I'm guessing you're here because right now you, or someone you know, could benefit from talking to someone. I offer a safe, non-judgemental space, where I will listen to anything that you need to work through. I specialise in helping adults and young people (aged 13 and above) talk through their problems and to be able to overcome the difficulties that they are experiencing, be that low mood, anxiety, stress or anything else that is bothering them. I believe that mental health problems are simply our bodies response to the things that are going on in our lives.
Counselling is a very personal process and it is important to find a counsellor that you are compatible with. I am an integrative counsellor, and I use my knowledge of different theories to make sure that each person that I work with gets an approach as individual as they are.
I offer both short- and long-term counselling to individuals both online and over the phone. I also offer home visits and walk and talk therapy.
If you are a student and are looking for a counsellor as either part of your course, or simply because you would like a place to offload, I offer sessions and will fill in any paperwork that is required. I also offer concessionary fees for students and trainee counsellors.
When you’re ready to take the next step along your therapeutic journey, I provide a free 30 minute consultation with no strings attached, where we can explore through a conversation whether we would be compatible working together.
Training, qualifications & experience
- I have a diploma in therapeutic counselling.
- I have a level two qualification in understanding substance misuse.
- I have been working remotely since the start of the pandemic and have an extra qualification in online and telephone counselling.
- Level 3 in Transactional Analysis
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
