About me
Welcome.
Perhaps you are feeling anxious, depressed, experiencing low self-esteem or struggling to make sense of a relationship or your own thoughts and feelings? It can be really difficult to talk openly sometimes, but its possible that speaking to someone, independent from family or friends, and in a safe and confidential space might help unpack your experiences, offer clarification, some relief and work towards making informed positive changes in your life that lead to personal empowerment and a more fulfilled life.
Part of my ethos is making the counselling experience affordable and accessible as well as providing a safe and warm space to talk freely and openly, without judgement or packed with advice.
So whether you're here with a curiosity to know how counselling might work for you or you seek a new counselling experience, I offer a free initial consultation to talk through what brought you here, and then we can simply take it from there.
Training, qualifications & experience
I work in private practice and have experience working with short-term and long-term counselling services including the NHS.
- Level 4 Diploma in Integrative Therapeutic Counselling, Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies, Level 2 Certificate in Counselling Skills.
- I have worked for the Trussell Trust foodbank.
As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I adhere to their ethical practices, have regular supervision and attend CPDs to enhance my practice and my client's experience.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
