About me

Despite your drive and ambition do you experience times of feeling stuck, overwhelmed by anxiety and self-doubt preventing you from having a fulfilling career and relationships? Even in a job and career you love, there may be moments when you feel paralyzed and frozen, unable to express your real self. This can stop you from fulfilling your potential and excelling as you know you can. You may have fought hard to banish your anxiety but wound up frustrated and confused when this didn’t work.

Do you compare yourself to seemingly thriving others and wonder why you can’t just be like them? Perfectionism and procrastination can get you down, leaving you caught in a self-critical spiral. The intense demands of work, despite its allure, may leave you grappling with an all-or-nothing mindset, experiencing both soaring highs and overwhelming lows. The smallest setbacks can derail you leaving you feeling overwhelmed, stressed, and worried. Compounding the problem with sleepless nights and fear of failure can lead to a sense of inadequacy. Fear of burdening others and embarrassed by what can feel like silly problems can be demoralising and stop you from having meaningful connections. Instead, perhaps you withdraw, compounding feelings of inadequacy and loneliness.

Progress starts within, let's ignite your journey together.

The Benefits of Psychotherapy

In therapy, my initial aim is simple: to ensure you feel genuinely heard, accepted, cared for, and supported—a transformative experience missing for so many. As an Integrative Psychotherapist, I draw from Humanistic, Psychodynamic, and CBT theories, exploring the root causes of pain and distress by delving into past experiences. This process unveils insights into dysfunctional habits, explaining their origins. Psychotherapy can fill developmental deficits, fostering empowerment and enabling the relearning of functional coping mechanisms. With extensive experience, I bring genuine passion and a wealth of knowledge, offering empathetic guidance through challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, personal growth, and trauma. As a Mental Health and Psychological Therapies Lecturer, I've contributed to national developments through research and taught trainee professionals.

Gaining a deeper understanding of yourself and your difficulties can enable a clearer sense of your identity and sense of purpose. Knowing how you got to where you are and the impact of life events and relationships, can enable an inner strength and feeling of safety and security.

You worry less, sleep better and feel more confident and capable.

Having a solid sense of who you are and what you want in life, can help you to make positive, lasting changes and enable you to thrive, finding peace, joy and excitement,

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Online Counselling

I currently offer both in person and online counselling. Both are effective ways to get the support you need. If you feel quietly distressed and anxious at the prospect of leaving your home, you can access therapy from the sanctuary of your armchair without having to manage a busy schedule, the travel or parking.

Online counselling have been shown to be effective as face to face counselling. This safe, hassle free and confidential method provides a convenient and safe way for you to get the support you need, right now.

And if you prefer to meet face-to-face, I offer appointments at two locations and we can discuss which venue would suit your needs and schedule.
