About me

Hello, and a warm welcome to my profile. I understand how difficult this first step can feel when you may already be feeling overwhelmed by personal struggles. If your feeling nervous, that's okay and perfectly understandable. I too have experienced this first step, but also the enrichment and transformation that can come by freeing the self from feeling stuck in personal struggles.

As a Counsellor & Trauma Focused Counsellor,  I am passionate about supporting people to overcome internal challenges and work towards self-healing, by working together to deeply understand whatever is going on for you. I want you to feel heard, validated and free to express exactly how you are feeling, to emerge from behind the mask we so often show to the world.  I can offer you a space to just 'be you'.

I truly believe that deep within all of us is the capacity to self-heal, build resilience and grow as a person once we gain full awareness and understanding of ourselves, promoting both physical, mental and emotional well-being.

I can offer you a welcoming space, free of judgement and opinions, whether face to face, online or telephone, which is confidential and safe for you to freely explore your difficulties. Together we can find the right way for your unique journey, to understand what is it you want to gain from counselling and work together to achieve that.

Whether you are:

  • Experiencing anxiety, excessive worrying or intruding negative thoughts
  • Experiencing depression, self-harm or suicidal thoughts
  • Struggling with PTSD or other symptoms as a result of a traumatic expereince in day to day life
  • Struggling to cope with the impact of sexual, physical or mental abuse
  • Need support to navigate through menopause, to explore and understand the impact on mental and physical health
  • Struggling with unhelpful or destructive patterns of behaviour
  • Experiencing loss & grief of a loved one, the self, or something important to you
  • Experiencing relationship difficulties
  • Feelings of loneliness, isolation, hopelessness and lost sense of purpose
  • Struggling through pregnancy and motherhood
  • Or maybe you are just feeling a sense of unease and discomfort but don't know why you feel that way

Whatever your reason, I invite you to go on a journey, where together we can  explore, discover, gain insights and work towards a better understanding of what is going on within you. With greater awareness you can begin to develop the version of self that you really want, together we can work towards developing and improving your ability to  manage life's challenges in a way that works for you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
