About me

When you are ready, talk with me in a safe and confidential place about what is bothering you and together we can help you find a way through it. I am an approachable, caring counsellor and CBT therapist who will listen without judgement. Working in the Wrexham area.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have many years experience working as a counsellor, cognitive behaviour therapist, hypnotherapist and coach, with people who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck or want to change something in their life. I work in a range of organisations, with employee assistance programmes and in private practice, specialising in working with people who:

  • feel anxious, stressed, have low mood, feel depressed or have suicidal thoughts
  • feel low in self confidence
  • experienced trauma, abuse, loss or bereavement and grief
  • have phobias, obsessive thoughts or behaviours or self harm
  • have chronic or life limiting illness or want end of life support
  • ladies experiencing the menopause
  • want to achieve a desired ambition, for example promotion at work, management and leadership development or setting up your own business

I am qualified in a range of therapies including person centred counselling, cognitive behaviour therapy, acceptance commitment therapy, neuro linguistic programming, hypnotherapy and coaching, working in an integrative way, to bring the right support to meet your needs.

For an informal chat, get in touch by phone, text or email or visit my website for more detailed information.

Here is an example of the type of feedback I get from clients

"The counselling has been really productive and I can honestly say without Rachel's skills and abilities to help with my situation, I would not have moved forward to a more positive place in my mind" Anon, Therapy Client

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
