About me
Hi! I’m Rachel, I am so excited to welcome you to RLS Therapeutic Services based in our beautiful new therapy suite, geographically located at The Old Courthouse, Dukinfield.
I am a qualified Integrative therapist, and work within the models of person-centred counselling, elements of cognitive behavioural therapy and transactional analysis: this provides me with a greater skillset when supporting individuals as when it comes to therapy, different techniques work for different people and we will tailor the therapy to meet you in all of your uniqueness. My fundamental belief is that you are the expert on yourself and I consider it a privilege to walk beside you and share your journey. I provide an empathic, safe, non-judgmental space where you are fully accepted and welcomed as you are.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified counsellor and have experience of working within education, the charity sector and the NHS. I have successfully worked with many clients presenting with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, difficulties in relationships, trauma, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, low self-esteem and low confidence.

- Transactional Analysis - TA101 plus Contracting & Ego States.
- The Rewind Technique (Laura Keegan - Accredited IARTT Trainer)
- The Profile of abilities in Autistic Girls (Tony Attwood)

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I have always had a passion for working within mental health and wellbeing. I have worked with children and young people for the last 23 years supporting their social, emotional and behavioural development. I have also worked with adults and this led me on my own journey to becoming a counsellor.
Prior to this, I held pastoral roles in education, achieved Early Years Teacher Status having specialised in the birth to five-years-old age range and I also trained with the International Association of Infant Massage. Nurture is at the heart of what I do!
I believe that everyone is doing the best they can, with the resources they have available at any given time. I am passionate about helping people achieve their full potential and work through things that are holding them back in order for them to heal. Everybody has the capacity for growth and to be the very best version of themselves.
Please do get in touch if I can be of support to you.
