About me

Hello, I'm Rachel, a BACP registered therapist working in person and online. I offer a warm, relational therapeutic approach where we will work together, bringing awareness to whatever feels challenging or limiting in your life, supporting you to find balance and make meaningful change.

People come to therapy for many reasons. Perhaps you need some support during a period of challenge in your life, or maybe you are feeling stuck and your ways of coping no longer seem to work. You may be experiencing relationship difficulties, feelings of depression or anxiety, or coming to terms with loss or trauma. Whatever you are bringing, I will listen openly and help you to feel held and supported.

I offer a space which is:

Open and honest
Creative
Where you will feel seen and heard, and
Where we can explore our difference and how we connect with one another

I trained as a therapist because I believe passionately in the grounding and transformative nature of therapy. I work to support my clients to live as authentically as possible, free to make choices which feel right for them. Through creating a secure and meaningful connection together we will explore the challenges which have brought you here, looking at your unique experiences and identity and whatever feels ‘stuck’ in your life. I will listen and support you in moments of vulnerability, and challenge you when a different perspective might be helpful.

My background as a Gestalt Therapist means I work with the ‘here and now’ exploring how past experiences affect your present relationship with yourself and others. This can help you to develop more awareness of how you actually are, helping you to live your life in a way that feels right for you and in balance.

Contact

I understand how important choosing the right therapist is and so I offer a free 15 minute consultation. This is an opportunity for us to get a sense of each other and whether I feel like the right therapist for you. There is no commitment to work together at this point.

Please get in touch via email or send me a message. I aim to respond within 24 hours.

Experience

Some of the issues I work with include, but are not limited to, anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma, grief & loss, relationship difficulties, fertility challenges, self-esteem and identity issues.

Alongside my private practice, I volunteer in a community-based charity that supports mental well-being in Hackney, E8.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
