About me
Many of the people I help do not know why they are struggling or how they feel but know they need help. Often they feel stuck and overwhelmed or are struggling in their work or relationships but can't understand why. I offer a flexible and relational approach to help them identify and work through the challenges they face, often helping them understand and heal experiences from their past which are impacting their lives in the present.
How can I help?
My approach puts you at the centre building a strong relationship in a non-judgmental safe space where we explore your emotions, thoughts and relationships both in the present and from the past. I work with clients to understand their experiences and draw on their own resources and find their own solutions. Whether you are dealing with experiencing anxiety or depression, a life changing event or maybe feeling overwhelmed and are struggling to cope; I can help you identify what you need and find a way forward. This can help connect you to your feelings and heal, and improve your current relationships, break unhealthy or self destructive ways of coping and make lasting change. I work with a wide range of clients from diverse backgrounds and life experiences and have a particular training and lived experience supporting members of the LGBTQ+ community and mens mental health.
Taking therapy outside....
I also offer walk and talk therapy in the countryside surrounding my practice. Sitting face to face can be uncomfortable and feel alien for those who have never experienced it before. Some find walking together can be less overwhelming and offers all the benefits of moving the body and getting out into the outdoors.
My Background: Before training as a therapist I was a drummer and educator for 20 years. I believe that human creativity can be a powerful tool for self-expression, exploration, accessing unconscious feelings and connecting with the present. Because of this I like to offer clients a variety of creative ways to explore their process.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
