About me

Hi, I'm Perdita

I offer a compassionate space that enables me to work alongside you to explore new ways of understanding yourself better. I am an integrative counsellor, which means I can offer a wide range of techniques to promote your wellbeing.

Counselling is a talking therapy which enables us to explore your distress together.

Looking for a counsellor can be daunting, but I offer a warm, non-judgemental and safe environment in which we can work together to explore what's going on for you. I use an integrated approach to counselling which allows me to tailor the work to meet your needs.

I have experience working with young people and adults in both face-to-face and online settings, and am also a trained supervisor at level 6, meaning I have a good understanding of how to support you and your needs when it comes to supervision.

I am an accredited BACP member and follow their good practice guidelines and policies. I hold the same values in my counselling practice, ensuring I provide a safe environment that focuses on creating a relationship which allows you to grow and reflect in your practice to explore the work.

Our sessions would start with a free 20-minute telephone conversation where we can have a chat about what's going on for you and what you would like to work on once decided whether you feel comfortable working with me. Due to the current situation, I am offering online sessions over zoom, or walk and talk sessions.

If you would like to find out more or are interested in beginning your counselling journey with me, please do send me a message.

 I also offer supervision.

I hold the same values as in my counselling practice in which to provide a safe environment that focuses on the creating a relationship that allows you to grow and reflect in your practice to explore the work. While ahearing to the BACP guidelines of good practice.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
