About me

Overview:

Welcome to The Connected Self Therapy,  a space for those seeking a transformative and empathetic approach to personal growth and healing. My journey, which includes my own counselling journey shapes the compassionate and comprehensive therapy I provide.

As a therapist,– I am contemplative, creative, and deeply attuned to the emotional landscapes of others. My approach is characterised by a blend of compassion and insight, reflecting my commitment to understanding and nurturing the unique complexities of each individual.

Your Experience:

Embarking on therapy can often stem from a place of anxiety, feeling lost, or wrestling with self-critical thoughts. You might be seeking a way out of burnout, longing for emotional stability, or wishing to feel more connected with your work and relationships. I am here to guide you through these challenges, offering a nurturing space where you can safely explore and grow.

My practice is inclusive and respectful, embracing intersectional and integrative methods. I am dedicated to providing trauma-informed care that is sensitive to social justice, anti-racism, feminism, and LGBTQIA+ affirming. This ensures a supportive environment for all individuals, regardless of their identity.

I am particularly adept at working with those navigating life's complexities, such as relationship dynamics, personal identity, and the impact of societal pressures. My clientele often includes individuals who are dealing with overwhelming life changes, anxiety, and a desire for a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the world.

Therapeutic Approach:

Therapy with me is not a standardised process but a journey tailored to your individual needs My experience in managing mental health and domestic abuse services informs my empathetic and patient approach, particularly beneficial for those healing from trauma or navigating significant life decisions.

The foundation of our work together is a therapeutic relationship built on trust, openness, and authenticity. My training in EMDR, Embodiment work, Movement, NLP, and Integrative Therapy, combined with a holistic coaching approach, allows me to create a therapy plan that resonates with your unique experiences.

Engagement and Growth:

In our sessions, expect a collaborative, warm, and genuine atmosphere where you are encouraged to explore and understand yourself. My goal is to empower you with the tools and insights needed for a fulfilling life, ensuring that you feel heard, respected, and valued.

If you're thinking about therapy, I invite you to reach out for an initial discussion to understand your needs better and ensure that I am the right therapist for you.

Client Reflection:

“I was going through a rough patch and needed someone to help and listen. Pavan was phenomenal from the first meeting, always attentive, never judgmental and helped me with coping strategies to get me through such a difficult time. Pavan was able to help me think through a lot of thoughts that made me feel extremely stuck and hopeless at the time. Looking back on it now I do not know how I would have got to where I am now without her support and would recommend Pavan to anyone in a similar position.” DK

“Pavan absolutely blew me away in my sessions! She is an amazing therapist and amazing at what she does! I came to her to quit smoking and work on control issues! I am happy to say I’v quit and feel totally amazing 🤩 Pavan is so extremely knowledgable and so passionate about what she does. I really learnt so much from her in our sessions and have been able to apply what she taught me going forward, I am forever grateful to you Pavan! Thank-you” EL

“Pavan is a truly wonderful therapist and so easy to talk to. She really took the time to make me feel comfortable so that I was able to talk about my issues. She knew just what to say and really helped me to feel so much better. I have no hesitation in recommending her! Thanks Pavan :-)” EC

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
